Hello beautiful people! I am so sorry for being quiet this month. It has been manic but amazing at the same time I have just come back from Mykonos and will be sharing my experience with you shortly. It was my first overseas Hen Party and it was definitely a trip to remember. I recently purchased a few high end/luxury make-up items from House of Fraser on Oxford Street which I will share with you. Buying luxury beauty and make-up items can become really pricey but I do treat myself once in a while if I really want a product or products in this case. I created the smokey eye look above using all three products.
- Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder
- Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey
- Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in #3
I had heard a lot about all three products on YouTube, Instagram and on various Blogs. When it comes to products that are on the expensive side its always good to try before you buy. I did this and really liked these products.
This is a cult product, everyone raves about it and I had to give in a try it! I have always had an issue with creasing concealer on my under eyes as I have almond shaped eyes that naturally crease. I have tried a numerous amount of loose powders, this one is magic. It is so fine and will never look cakey. I did not have any creasing at all, I LOVE it It retails at £29 which may seem extreme but it does the job and you get a lot of product. I cannot use anything else to set my under eyes. I do not regret buying it. I also set the whole of my face with it too and it leaves me looking airbrushed.
I am obsessed with highlighting products and I kept hearing great things about Laura Geller’s Gilded Honey illuminator. I went in store to try it and I really liked it. It gave my skin a lovely golden glow. Most of the highlighting products I own are more on the champagne colour scale but this one really makes my skin sparkle and warms it up at the same time. I can create more diverse skin finishes as most of the highlighters I do have are of similar tones whereas this one has more golden pigments. I really like the overall finish it gives to my base make-up and it has now become a staple product in my make-up bag. It retails at £21. The packaging is super cute too and it is compact and easy to carry around.
As soon as I saw the packaging on the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick I just had to try it. The packaging is a beautiful rose gold with the YSL logo in the middle and you can see the lipstick shade through it. It is just so beautiful. I bought the shade #3 – a mauve pink nude shade. The lipstick is super glossy and glides on and I love the ultra shiny finish. It is long wearing as I have worn it on a night out and when I got home it was still in tact but just not as shiny. If you love a glossy look then this lipstick definitely aids that. It retails at £26. It has been my go to nude shade these past few weeks and it finishes of any look perfectly.
Thank you so much for reading my post There is a lot of exciting posts coming up which I am really excited about. So keep those eyes peeled.
