Hey my lovely readers,
In this post, I thought I would share with you how I edit my Instagram photos. I LOVE Instagram and it is my favourite form of social media. I am going to go through colour schemes and apps I use
Let’s look at colour schemes first. I like my Instagram feed to look well put together and slick. The way I do this is to really think about the photos I pair together on my feed. I try and get the photos that are going to be side by side to sync in their colours and content. For example, below a lot of my holiday pictures have either a blue or green colour scheme due to the sea and the natural surroundings. When I was on the Soap & Glory Freshers Tour the colour scheme was very pink. You can have a lot of fun and be as creative as you can with your Instagram feed. It is a way of storytelling- telling people about your life through photos. I have recently discovered grid photos are really popular recently, below I have a grid photo to promote my YouTube Channel. It takes up 9 photo spaces on your Instagram feed but looks amazing. Just have fun with your Instagram feed, it is a creative visual outlet.
I use a number of apps to edit my Instagram photos to make them the best content they can be. There is controversy when it comes to editing. People feel if you edit pictures it is not a true representation. My argument is, if you can enhance but not physically change a photo then there is nothing wrong with editing your Instagram photos. Whether it is a make-up photo, scenery or outfit shot, indoor or outdoors. You can make them look great. Here are a few examples of my Instagram photos that have been edited-
Apps I use (All available in the Apple App Store)–
Facetune- Facetune is a great app for make-up photos and highlighting details. You can smoothen out imperfections on the skin. I love the detailing tool as it allows the eyes to sparkle. In scenic photos, I can use the patch tool to get rid of anything I do not want in my photo. There is a resizing tool where you can manipulate the shape of your face and body. I do not use this tool for the face and body but I do use it occasionally to volumise my hair.
Enlight- Enlight is such a fun app to use! I use it to brighten and sharpen up my photos and add a frame if I want to. It also has brushes where you can add sparkle and mist to your photos. It has so many filters you can play with too.
Diptic- Diptic is an app I use for collages and mainly my outfit photos. If I want two outfits in one photo, this app easily allows me to do that.
