This is my first outfit post on my blog so I am really excited about it As we are going into Spring, here in London it is still chilly so dressing warm and feeling great about ourselves is key. When it comes to my outfit choices, I love anything that looks unique but at the same time is comfortable and on trend. Fashion to me is feeling pretty, sexy and happy in the clothes you are in. I love being original when it comes to cuts, prints and colours. My outfit on this particular day was inspired by earthy tones. What I wanted was to be warm but at the same time look stylish. As Winter has come to an end and we are going into Spring, I felt this outfit is great for the transitional weather that we are going through at the moment. I am also going to show the make-up look I had, as the make-up is part of the entire outfit.
Coat- Pull and Bear cape coat, second hand from a clothes swap event- £10.00 (such a bargain!)
Jumper- New Look khaki cropped jumper, RRP £19.99
Socks- Primark woven socks, RRP £2.00
Bag- Michael Kors Bedford Medium Satchel, RRP £200.00
Watch- Casio Camouflage watch, RRP £33.94
Earrings- Swarovski Solitaire Pierced Earrings, RRP £39.99
I really LOVE this outfit as it is fictional and looks great. Let’s get a closer look at some of the items of clothing.
This Coat is in a cape style, so it is not fitted. This isn’t a bad thing as I really like the unusual cut and functionality of it. It has two zip pockets which are good for keeping valuables such as phones, wallets and cash safe and they are easy to reach. The coat also has black popper buttons along the front and on both sides along the back. The black looks great against the coat’s khaki colour. It has black quilted padding on the inside plus a quilted collar and hood. This quilted padding keeps me warm. Pull and Bear have made a coat that is both high in quality and functionality. The only limitation I find is that you cannot wear a rucksack with it, as it tends to pull the sides back and is not particularly comfortable.
These River Island Black Ripped Molly Jeggings are amazing! They are stretchy and have a relaxed look to them. They are a staple item in my wardrobe as they look great with jumpers, shirts and cardigans, giving an edge to any look. I really like the rips and where they are placed. I am super petite and sometimes finding ripped jeans can be a mission as the rips always end up over my knees. These Jeans really are perfect.
Hunter’s black & green bullseye block heel boots are one of my favourite items from this outfit. I came across these online and instantly wanted them. They are made for London weather! London has extremely unpredictable weather and these boots are made with the famous Hunter Wellington material making them seriously waterproof, plus I get the extra height I want as I am very small As soon as you put these boots on you feel the weight of them, they are heavy so I decided to match them up with some fluffy woven Primark socks. Hunter is an iconic British brand, whilst wearing these boots I can tell they are made well. The heel is 9.5cm and they are completely made out of rubber and have fast drying liner. They are pretty much a fashionable wellington.
This Michael Kors Bedford Medium Satchel has been in my life for around 3 years and I LOVE it. It is my Marry Poppins bag. On the outset it looks a medium size, but you can fit a lot in it. I have to be honest and say I do like black and gold when it comes to bags. A Michael Kors handbag does have a high price point but you cannot fault the quality. Mine looks as good as new. It also has a longer strap so you can put it over your shoulder or carry it on your fore arm using the smaller handles. It does also go over the shoulder when it is not completely full. It is a statement piece that can add sparkle to any outfit. As it is not a completely structured bag it gave my outfit a relaxed feel, which I wanted. This bag has number of pockets on the inside and one on the outside, making it easy to organise your possessions inside it. This bag completed my outfit.
The Casio Camouflage watch is an item I wear regularly. It looks good as well as having functions such as alarm and stop watch. From a young age I had trouble telling the time on traditional watch faces, with a Casio watch it is all done in digital form and is easy to read. This one also has a light. The camouflage pattern really complemented the khaki colours in my outfit so I decided to wear this watch.
I wanted to keep my outfit clean and simple so I opted for the Swarovski Solitaire Pierced Earrings. These earrings are simple but add a nice brightness. They have a silver back to them and I find they add a lightness to the face and are not over powering. They were perfect for the neutral vibe this outfit has.
The make-up look I went for was warm earthy tones. I felt warm toned make-up would really compliment the green khaki colour of my shoes and coat and the colder weather. Here is a product list-
Foundation- Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation which I am obsessed with at the moment. It has medium coverage and is a cross between matte and dewy which I really like. RRP £29.00
Contour- MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Skinfinish Natural in Dark Deepest, RRP £24.00
Highlight- Benefit Watt’s Up! cream highlighter, RRP £24.50, MAC Cosmetics Mineralise Skinfinish Soft & Gentle, RRP £24.00, theBalm Cosmetics Marie-Lou Manizer, RRP £15.00. I have to confess I do use three highlighters sometimes. I love being fresh faced and dewy
Blush- MAC Cosmetics Powder Blush in Peaches, RRP £18.50, one of my go-to blushers.
Eyebrows- Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil in Dark Choc, RRP £8.00. This eyebrow pencil has a brush attached to it to keep my brows tame and the pencil gives a great natural finish.
Lips- MAC Cosmetics Lipstick in Tabla, RRP £15.50. You cannot go wrong with MAC Lipsticks, Tabla is a rich brown colour with a nice sheen.
This outfit kept me warm, comfortable and stylish, which is exactly the result I wanted.
