Spring is finally here and there have been certain fashion trends that I am loving at the moment, I will be sharing these with you I feel like Spring is a great time, as it is starting to get warm and we can wear lighter layers. We can put that Winter knitwear away and get excited that Summer is around the corner. There are some pretty cool fashion trends this Spring 2016 that I have been wearing constantly or that I like to combine in my outfit choices. I feel like trends go round in circles, they will always re-trend at some point, so just wear what you love.
Graphic Stripes were featured on the majority of high end designers fashion shows this Spring 2016. To name a few- Christian Dior, Alexandra Wang, Max Mara, DKNY, Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Tommy Hilfiger, Stella McCartney, Naeem Khan, Reem Acra, Vivienne Westwood, Prada, Roksanda and Jonathan Saunders. The list is pretty much endless. I love wearing stripes and it is infused in my everyday wear. Stripes can make an outfit fun and flattering, there are no rules.
This co-ord set- Tunic Top and Pencil Skirt are from River Island. I bought them a few months ago on sale and they are now sold out. This co-ord set was £40 in total, I love the longer Tunic over the pencil skirt as it has slits on the side that gives legs definition. I wore a hat (H&M £10) and studded leather jacket (ZARA £120) to give the look more edge. I teamed this look with Chelsea boots from New Look (£25). I went for a monochrome theme with this look and love the white soles on the boots.
Stripes are so diverse you can be edgy or you can go down the cute route. Believe it or not the majority of this outfit is from Primark. Primark is great as you can find some serious gems on a budget. The long sleeve Minnie Mouse top was £8 and the Jumpsuit was £15. The combination of the two items gives me a cute yet edgy twang. I wore seriously high white chunky heels I found on Ebay (£15) to give my look the extra funky edge I wanted. In total my outfit cost £38, RESULT! You do not need to break the budget to look good
When it comes to fashion I like mixing textures. A leather look pencil skirt can make an outfit seriously sexy. This leather look skirt has been in my life for years, I bought it as a treat when I was taking exams in Uni. It is from ASOS, have a look at this pencil skirt it is very similar. This top is from Primark (£8), I like the turtle neckline of this top and the fitting. I wanted to create a look that is day wear but can be worn at night. I wore black chunky heels I found on Ebay (£15) to pull the look together.
Mirror and High Shine
The Mirror and shine trend is one I really like. I love pops of high shine in an outfit, to make an outfit unique. A huge range of designers showcased outfits on the catwalk Spring ’16 with high shine and mirror on them. To name a few- Loewe, Isabel Marant, Louis Vuitton, Prabal Gurung, Carolina Herrera, John Galliano, Burberry, Gucci, Isabel Marant, Emilio Pucci, Rochas, Temperley, Tibi and Louis Vuitton.
This outfit is something I would regularly wear as it screams comfort as well as being on trend. This T-Shirt dress is from ASOS, the main reason I bought it was for the print on the front-a girl with a camera, I really like the artwork It has two slits on the sides which gives a nice detail and allows more leg movement. The incorporation of the mirror and high shine trend are these trainers. I LOVE them! They have a platform and have a mixture of metallic and grey on the top. I got them for £30 in the Office sale.
This look is feminine with a funky edge. The blazer has a silver high shine, when it catches the sun it definitely makes a statement. It was from Missguided last year and I love wearing it with a T-shirt dress. This Khaki T-shirt dress is a staple item in my wardrobe, it is from ASOS RRP £22. It is super comfortable and is versatile as I wear it with a leather jacket, caramel coat and fur. It pretty much goes with anything. This metallic cylinder bag was part of a Soap & Glory gift set at christmas believe it or not! It is great quality and I LOVE the colour. I take this bag along with me to dance classes as it can make an average sports outfit a lot more interesting. Now for the crème de la crème of this outfit, the SHOES. I bought these shoes in Office for £35 on sale and they were the last pair in that particular store and they are no longer on the website. As soon as I saw these heels, I knew I had to have them. They are full on metallic and can make an casual outfit look fab. The plus side is that they are really comfortable. Office has a massive range of their own heels, check them out as they do have a number of metallic pairs. I absolutely LOVE the Mirror and High Shine trend as I love an outfit to have a pop of metallic colour, it just lifts the look
The Graphic Bag trend is great. I love unusual bags, because why would we all want the same bag? thats boring. This spring Graphic Bags are featured in the Spring 2016 collections of- Kate of Spade, Yasbukey, Anya Hindmarch, Betsy Johnson, Christopher Kane, Alice and Olivia, Judith Leiber, Dolce and Gabbana, Kenzo and Stella McCartney.
This Rubik’s Cube bag get so much attention every time I wear it. I have worn it day-to-day, at parties and in the evening for dinner. Every time I have people asking ‘where is it from?’, The answer is a market in Dalston Junction. I was teaching in Dalston Junction and got to the school super early and stumbled across a market. In the market was this very small bag stall and I saw this bag, I grabbed it! It cost me £10 This is one of my favourite purchases ever, and it was not that expensive. It can make an outfit from being reserved to seriously trendy. It is a great size and just a fun addition to and outfit. I LOVE it!
This Camera bag was a present at christmas and is from Accessorize. I came across this Judith Leiber Camera Crystal Minaudière which would be the high end version of this bag. This bag looks amazing but is not very spacious. Its great for just you movie phone and other smaller essentials. The chain strap is very on trend at the moment too. This bag makes a statement and is a great conversation started. I always get asked am I a photographer, I am not but i am obsessed with photography. This is why I really like this bag.
A backpack I feel is an essential bag to have. Not only is it spacious but it is a lot better for your back then carrying a heavy handbag. Personally I wear a backpack everyday when I am out and about. The Backpack was on the Burberry catwalk this spring with the models initials on them, not going to lie slightly jealous. Other designers such as Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim and Rick Owens featured The Backpack on their fashion shows. The Backpack comes in a huge range of sizes, colours and textures. You can find them everywhere.
This Backpack is from Urban Outfitters. I bought it in store for £45 and its small but you can fit a lot in there. I really liked the black suede detail and a gold zip. It can go with casual or more dressy outfit. It is versatile. I wear it when I do not need to carry as much but I do not want to wear a handbag that day. This Backpack is sleek and practical.
This Backpack is the newest addition to my Backpack collection. It is an Eastpak Austin Unisex Ricksack for laptop in Camtooth. I bought it on Ebay for £39.96, it had 20% off. This bag is a great size and has really good padding for my laptop. Recently after starting ‘Krupa Around Town’ I tend to take my laptop with me so I can work on posts wherever I am. This bag allows me to carry my laptop comfortably. I had two zip pockets on either side for quicker access to items. The print on the Backpack is what I love, I really like camouflage print. This bag is incredibly practical as well as looking good, what more do you need?
This Backpack has been in my life for a few years and is amazing! It is a Sprayground Rucksack and has so many pocket sections inside the bag. This bag can pack in so many items and still looks trendy. I love the paisley design. Sprayground have 100s of different prints to choose from. If you want a Backpack that makes a statement have a look at the Sprayground website. It has a section inside for a laptop, tablet, phone and a pocket on the top for sunglasses. They thought of everything when designing this bag.
It’s time to get every trinket out of that jewellery box and put it on! This Spring 2016 layering a lot of jewellery has been featured on many catwalks. Wether you are wearing long chains with a choker or bangles and rings, it is time to put it all on.
My theme for this look was pearls. I layered an chubby wooden chain with a long pearl necklace that has an ornament hanging from it and then added a shorter chunky pearl necklace. I felt the lighter colours flowed well against the Khaki T-shirt dress. Wearing this amount of jewellery in our day-to-day lives may not be that practical, for a special occasion it can really make an outfit. I am definitely going to experiment more with layering my jewellery and just be more daring with it.
Spring Time Make-up
During the Spring season, I like keeping my make-up fresh and dewy. I tend to go for a BB Cream opposed to foundation as it is lighter and still has great coverage. Highlight is a MUST, strobing is my favourite thing to do during the warmer months. Who doesn’t want their face to glow? I use Nylon eyeshadow by MAC Cosmetics to highlight the brow bone and the eyes. A soft pink blush works really well with a pink glossy lip. I like MAC Dessert Rose Powder Blush, it makes me look really fresh. Light neural shimmery eyeshadows can really open up the eyes combined with a nice coat of curling and lifting mascara, Roller Lash by Benefit is my must have. Then you just need to add warmth with bronzer, then you are ready
