Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! As it is Valentine’s Day I thought I would do a special post for you all For me, if you have a loved one, everyday should be like Valentine’s day- not just that one day of the year! So really appreciate all your loved ones regardless of the time of year.
I am going to review a product that I picked up at LUSH cosmetics. It is ‘The Kiss’ Lip Scrub. This is a product they have released for the Valentine’s Day Festivities. They have a number of lip scrubs that sell all year round but when I tried this one in store I had to purchase it. It is very easy to use, you just sweep the scrub over your lips, give it a gentle rub and then lick off. The ingredients are all natural so you can eat them! The lip scrub tastes really sweet, I have the biggest sweet tooth so I was not complaining.
‘The Kiss’ Lip Scrub is pink in colour and has these really small love heart pigments which I thought were super cute. When you apply it to the lips it all dissolves. My lips were left feeling soft. This is a great product to use in the winter months as dryer lips will become more of a common sight than in other months of the year.
‘The Kiss’ Lip Scrub has fine sea salt, caster sugar and Fair Trade cocoa butter. LUSH is all about their products being made with natural ingredients. They make a big statement about their products being homemade, ethical and against animal testing. The thought that I am using something that has natural goodness makes me happy.
On the bottom of the product packaging it says, ‘This product was made by Gavin’ and the date it was made (25/01/16) and when it expires (25/03/17). With LUSH products always keep an eye out on the date the product expires, the ingredients are natural and will expire. Other flavours in the lip scrub range include Mint Julips, Bubblegum and Popcorn. I have tried all three in store and was not a fan of Bubblegum as it tasted too artificial, Mint Julips and Popcorn are lovely.
This lip scrub as been a nice addition to my morning routine as it is quick and easy, and REALLY tasty! It leaves my lips feeling super soft. It is great to use before using a matte lipstick as it gets rid of any chapped areas on your lips, so the lipstick just glides on. Use the lip scrub, then your lip balm of choice – I religiously use Carmex Original Lip Balm – and apply your lipstick/lip product of choice.
I have been doing this for three weeks now and it is great! I would recommend this product because it has made a huge difference to my lips. In the winter months I have always suffered from seriously chapped lips and now my lips are a lot softer ‘The Kiss’ Lip Scrub retails at £5.50, the products last for ages. You only need a tiny amount each time you sweep it over your lips. There are LUSH stores all over the place so do pop in and have a try.
