Wedding seasons now upon us and it can be an exciting yet stressful time. Maybe you are the bride, groom, bridesmaid or guest, whichever one you are, there is so much to think about. Recently I went along to the ‘Asian Bride Live 2016’ event and watched the fashion show. The outfits were completely breathtaking. You can check out that post too.
I came across ‘O’nitaa-The Essence of Asian Couture’ and absolutely loved their outfits. There was one that really stood out to me. It was a navy blue velvet dress, ‘O’nitaa’ had my full attention after that. Below is the dress, you can see why it got my attention. The embroidery is so intricate and beautiful. After reading my ‘Asian Bride Live 2016’ post, ‘Onitaa’ got in touch with me and invited me to their London Baker Street store. I could not wait!
O’nitaa was launched with the scope to share and introduce the works of some of Asia’s highly skilled designers to the West. The customer is at the heart of our unique business model, that includes bespoke designing and sales via our retail store based in the heart of London. We are differentiated by having a highly-defined design concept. The O’nitaa concept is based on an alliance between its plethora of designers and a quality product. We endeavour to dress the modern, urban woman for her daily needs as well as her diva moments. The formula we have analysed, adapted and applied runs through all the garments we house at our store off Baker Street. It has been and remains one of the keys to our commercial success and international prestige. The designers we represent are the very finest Asia has to offer today which is why our products are valued by admirers and collectors alike.
O’nitaa is an internationally famous multi-designer retail store that markets women’s and men’s clothing and accessories. When you walk in store it is seriously the Narnia of Asian Wedding clothing. It is an array of colour and shine. When I entered the shop I was greeted by Yamini, who was really lovely. I took a long look around the shop at all the outfits and accessories. I managed to find the navy velvet dress that I love. I will be sharing three very different kinds of looks for the various clientele that need Asian Couture.
There were so many outfits I wanted to try on, if I had my choice I would try them all I came across this outfit which had a lavender asymmetric skirt and crop top that you can see in the photo above. The designer is Mansi Malhotra and she specialises in subtle colours and ace pearl embroidery. The skirt is absolutely beautiful, it flows effortlessly. The clientele for this outfit is English brides. I could not wait to try it. When I put the outfit on I could feel the weight of it. The top had the most amazing pearl beading I had ever seen. This outfit is perfect for an English bride as it has the perfect mix of east meets west. It is classic and beautiful.
I really wanted to try on an asian bridal outfit. I saw this amazing coral and blue bridal lengha. It is not the traditional red a lot of asian brides go for but it is just incredibly stunning. The designer is Raman Khanna who specialises in traditional colours used in modern silhouettes. His clientele are asian brides and bridesmaids. When I wore this outfit I honestly felt like this is an outfit that would have all eyes on the wearer. No one can ignore this one. The work on the skirt is amazing with a traditional mango design in gold. The back of the top is insanely intricate and beautiful. For a bridal outfit it is daring in terms of the colours, but I feel the mix of coral and blue was stunning. I did not want to take it off!
Now I wanted a completely different look, something I could wear on a red carpet. Yamini showed me these amazing hand knitted crochet dresses. They are like a piece of art. The designer is Delphi. They specialise in hand knitted crochet art done by village women from Pakistan. Each outfit takes at least 3-4 months to be ready for the shelves. The story behind the dresses is really lovely as they create job opportunities for the village women in Pakistan. When I looked at all the different dresses in the collection I was blown away by how beautiful they are. Celebrities such as Naomi Scott, Anu Menon to name a few have worn dresses by Delphi. I felt like a million dollars in this Crochet Nude Dress. It is very figure hugging and has sequins all over which I loved. When they catch the light the dress looks amazing. Yamini teamed the dress with coloured piping accessories which made this outfit even more exciting.
I had such a fun day in store at ‘O’Nitaa’ and if you are in Baker Street go in store and check it out. They cater for a vast number of Asian events such as weddings or a more commercial event like a red carpet. It is very varied. The quality and design of the outfits are amazing. If you purchase of of their outfits, it will last a lifetime. I love the fact that they showcase designers from India and Pakistan, giving designers a place to showcase creations in the heart of London. If you are an Asian bride or an English bride there will be an outfit for you. The store itself is really welcoming and you can see all the outfits clearly. It is set up beautifully. As well as Men’s and Women’s clothing they sell and massive range of accessories. If you are looking for a show stopping outfit do go along to their store- O’nitaa, 16 Glentworth Street, London, NW1 5PG. Like I said it is the Narnia of Asian Wedding Clothing
